Eight CRPF personnel and two militants were killed and more than 21 jawans injured when a group of militants attacked a bus carrying security forces on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in the Pampore area. 
The bus was travelling from south Kashmir to Srinagar when three militants got out of a car travelling in the opposite direction at a sharp curve in the road and opened fire.

Fidayeen is a term used to refer to various violent groups willing to sacrifice themselves for a cause. The ambush was in nature of suicide attack.
