Kanhaiya gets 6 months interim bail (The Hindu, 3 March)

JNU students union President Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested on account of organizing and taking part in an event against the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. During this event Kanhaiya and his fellow students also raised anti-India slogans.

Kanhaia Kumar was arrested on charges of seditions under section 124 A of I.P.C. Delhi High Court has given 6 months bail to kanhaiya on the following conditions:

1.    Kanhaiya is required to give undertaking that he would not take part in an activity which may be termed anti-national.

2.    The HC Judge remarked that every individual has right to pursue his political ideology or affiliation only within the framework of Indian Constitution.
