Internet has become a basica necessity as any other commodity. Keeping up with the changing times, the Kerala government has announced an initiative in this budget to provide free internet connections to 20 lakh citizens.
What is the implication of Internet being a basic right?
Internet access was declared a basic right like water, food, and education for every citizen of Kerala and so will have to be provided by the Government positively.
The project is being called K-Fon, and the plan is to lay out optical fibre cables parallel to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) lines all across the state.
