The ranking for higher education was released by Ministry of Human Resources (HRD). It has been titled under “India Ranking 2016”. More than 3500 private and public institutions participated.

The National Bureau of Acredition (NBA) came out with the results based on five criteria. These are:

1. Teaching and learning resources

2. Graduation outcome

3. Perception

4. Outreach

5. Inclusivity

The top rankings are as follows:

-IISC Bangalore topped the university category.

-IIT Madras topped the engineering category.

-IIM Bangalore topped the management category.

-Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal topped the pharmacy category.

Universities like JNU and University of Hyderabad were on 3rd and 4th position in university category respectively.
