There are 25 high courts in India. The Calcutta High Court is the oldest high court in the country, established on 2 July 1862. The latest to be established is Andhra Pradesh High Court. It was established on 1st January 2019. It was established under Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. This act was passed to facilitate partition of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.
